Thank you to the FAI members and registrants who reached out to check on our staff and local community in KC in regards to this yesterday’s act of violence during the Kansas City Chief’s Super Bowl celebration.
We grieve for those directly impacted as well as their family and friends. We learned that our friends at KKFI 90.1 FM lost their DJ, Lisa Lopez-Galvan, who co-hosted A Taste of Tejano.
We are grateful to the brave community members as well as local, state, and federal law enforcement for their swift action to secure the scene while preventing further casualties.
As the FAI learns more about the situation, rest assured the staff is working closely with our hotel partners to ensure additional security for next week’s conference. Situations such as these are difficult on many levels, and we hope that you feel comfort in knowing heightened measures are being enacted to prepare for your productive and safe trip to KC.
